Tickets for the upcoming Austin screening of the Houston Film Commission's Texas Filmmaker's Showcase are now onsale through the Austin Film Society website. The screening will take place on September 17th at 8:00 PM in the Austin Film Society's Marchesa Hall and Theatre. Proceeds from the screening will benefit the Austin Film Society's AFS Grant for emerging film and video artists in the state of Texas.
The Texas Filmmaker's Showcase features a selection of the best short films from the international film festival circuit made by filmmakers from the state of Texas. Featured in this year's program are Cork's Cattlebarron by Eric Steele, The Garden and the Wilderness by Craig Whitney, Hellion by Kat Candler (which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival), Little Lions by Tony Costello, Vincent Valdez: Excerpts for John by Mark and Angela Walley, and Vultures of Tibet by Russell Bush (nominated for a 2013 Student Academy Award).
