We are excited to announce that The Garden and the Wilderness has been selected as one of six films featured in the Houston Film Commission’s Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase 2013. This prestigious ”collection of the Best of Texas-made short films” was selected by a jury of film professionals from among numerous entries submitted by filmmakers from across the state. Past selections have included Ain’t Them Bodies Saints director David Lowery’s Pioneer, Bryan Poyser’s Grammy’s, Bradley Jackson’s The Man Who Never Cried, Chris Eska’s Doki-Doki, and films by Kat Candler, Ya’Ke Smith, and other talented Texas filmmakers.
In addition to being featured on a special edition Blu-Ray of the 2013 Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase films, The Garden and the Wilderness will be screened along with this year’s five other selections in a private exhibition organized by the Houston Film Commission for Los Angeles-based producers, agents, and studios. The screening will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday June 30th at the Directors Guild of America Theatre.
Additional screenings of the 2013 Texas Filmmaker’s Showcase program are planned for theaters and film festivals across the state during the upcoming year, and will be posted as they are announced by the Houston Film Commission.
