Episode 3 of The Red Note podcast, entitled The Invisible Hand, is now available to listen and download on Apple, Spotify, and all podcast platforms. The episode is also available in Spanish under the title La Mano Invisible.

The third episode of the podcast covers the years 1995 through 1997, and explores the charges of femicide against the alleged "Juarez ripper", Abdel Latif Sharif Sharif, and the efforts of his legal representative, Irene Blanco, to defend him against these charges.

Imperative Entertainment is set to launch its first podcast in both English and Spanish. Hosted by investigative journalist Lydia Cacho, The Red Note/La Nota Roja will debut Sept. 22, exploring the story of the Juarez femicides through interviews with the investigators who tried to solve the crimes and the families of the victims.

Imperative is also prepping a documentary feature that will dive into the same story as the podcasts. Flowers of the Desert: Stories from the Red Note is being directed by Estefania Bonilla Hernandez and is set to be released in 2021. Imperative is producing alongside Blue Guitar.

The screenplay for Craig Whitney's upcoming film, The Red Note (La nota roja), has been named as a quarterfinalist in the Diversity category of the Cynosure Screenwriting Awards.

Based on the real life story of the femicides in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, The Red Note tells the story of a family who struggles to unravel the mystery of their daughter’s disappearance amid the violence of the country's decades-long drug war. The film will be directed by Craig Whitney and produced by Stephanie Huettner and Jennie Mosley Pope.

The Cynosure Screenwriting Competition seeks to to promote scripts with compelling female protagonists and scripts that showcase diversity. Winners of the competition will be announced online on October 21st.
